Thank you for attending the player and family get together last night, it was great meeting everyone! A big thank you to JB and Brock for coming and explaining their plan for the team this summer and into the fall. We were able to pick three tournaments for the summer in addition to the qualifying: The United Cup June 27-29 held on the THPRD fields, and Power line fields, the PCU Summer Classic July 11-13, held at Delta Park, and the CFC Waterfront Tournament August 1-3, held in Salem. Although we took a quick poll at the meeting, please post your availability on these tournaments to the blog so I can prepare the tournament rosters.
JB is conducting futsal camps at Portland Futsal this summer and strongly encouraged the girls to sign up as a team if possible. The camps are 9-3pm, cost $185 and are held at the Portland Futsal facility located at 3401 SE 17th Portland, Oregon 97202. Several of the families are able to make the camp June 23-27,(the friday conflicts with our first tournament so JB and I are looking into arrangements for the friday session, either a makeup or possibly a 4 day camp at a reduced fee, more later) there is also a camp July 14-July 18, and July 28 - Aug 1 (same issue for the friday session). Post your intentions re: the camp, the registration and waiver forms are available online at www.portlandfutsal.com.
Futsal is a great way to improve ball handling skills in a fun setting.
Red Fusion or... The girls are discussing whether to change the team name or leave it as Red Fusion. Players bring your opinions to this Tuesday's practice 1. change or stay the same, 2. if change, your top 3 choices for a new name. JB has final Veto authority! (no pink pandas)
